- Set aside some thinking time. As it’s christmas, a time
for giving & receiving abundant gifts, what dreams do you
have? Make a list of all the things you would like to have/be/do?
Imagine the people feelings places you want to be part of your
life.
- Go over your list & puts dates
by when you expect to achieve these outcomes. Make SMART goals. Specific,
Measurable, Action Oriented, Realistic, Time bound.
- Pick 4 goals that you can realize
within twelve months. *Write them on a separate piece of paper. Things
you’re
most committed to/excited about/will give you the most satisfaction.
- Make a list of why you want to achieve your goals.
What benefits you would get. Who else will benefit?
WHY is a very powerful question.
Identifying the BENEFITS give us motivation & encouragement
- Describe the kind of a person you would have to be. What qualities you’ll need to achieve your goals.
- Visualise yourself when you’ve achieved your goal. Sense of pride & achievement. Feels fantastic!
- Create an action plan ie the steps you’ll have to take to achieve your goal.
Include: taking bite sized actions and completion dates
- Get support- tell friends, get a buddy hire a coach, join a group/club.
- Meditate on your goal for a few minutes twice a day. Sit quietly & think about yourself having achieved your goal. See & hear all the wonderful details.
- Take immediate action. What can you do today, this week to achieve your goals?
